Why Should a Wife Submit to Her Husband?

The greek word "submit," hupotasso, is the continuing form of the verb, which means it is not just a one time action, but a continual attitude.

And in the relationship of love, we naturally respond to each other with humility, sacrifice and self-emptying of ourselves.

Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 5:25. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy.

Submission is a position of honor and respect. When a wife is loved as the church is loved by Christ, submission is not an obligation but a natural response to love.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

We should submit ourselves first to God as Jesus did to God. And a wife should submit herself to her husband not because a woman is inferior, but because of how God set the principle of marriage based on love. With the help of the power of the Holy spirit, marriage should be the sacrificial relationship of love following the example of Jesus Christ.
