Merry Christmas vs Happy Holidays - Are you offended?
Christmas is nearing and most people will probably start greeting you with "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays."
"Happy Holidays" is seen to some as a general term to greet and cheer people of all faiths, while some call it anti-Christian.
Going back to the roots of Christmas, it is a joyous day to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Bill O'Reilly of Fox News launched his annual battle against the "War on Christmas" this year, saying, "Every Christmas season there are people who try to diminish the celebration of Jesus's birthday."
The debate between "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holidays" will always come around at this time of year. Some say that saying "Happy Holidays" strips the meaning of Christmas.
Fellow Christians, of course we may prefer "Merry Christmas", but does it bother you that people are increasingly saying "Happy Holidays"?
