Is It Okay For Christians To Be Rich?
Our God is the owner of the universe. All things are from Him and through Him and to Him (Romans 11:36). God created this world and gave us everything, why would He not give us money? It's perfectly fine for Christians to become wealthy. There is nothing that forbids Christians from gaining a lot of money in the Bible.
With that said, apostle Paul said that loving money is the root of all sorts of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). Jesus also taught his disciples, "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money" (Matthew 6:24)
Becoming rich is not sin, but loving money, putting your trust and hope in material things in our lives can makes us arrogant and fail to serve the true God.
"You may say to yourself "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me." But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and gives you the ability to produce wealth.(Deuteronomy9:17-18)"
Many people become distanced from the world of God after they gain wealth. We should be aware of this and keep ourselves from becoming arrogant and satisfied with money. If one is given something by God, he should use it for the glory of God.
